Restricted free agent Josh Hart is expected to sign a three-year, $38 million deal to stay with the New Orleans Pelicans, his agents told Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hart will be the Pelicans’ 15th player on a guaranteed contract.
Last season, the 26-year-old averaged 9.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 47 games, while shooting 43.9 percent from the field (28.7 minutes per game).
His career-high 8.0 rebounds per game ranked second in the NBA behind Russell Westbrook (11.5) for guards.
Hart spent the first two years of his NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers before he was traded to the Pelicans in the Anthony Davis deal.
The Pelicans roster has changed quite a bit since last season, as they lost starters Lonzo Ball, Eric Bledsoe and Steven Adams and acquired guards Devonte’ Graham and Tomas Satoransky and center Jonas Valanciunas.
