Dennis Schroder agreed to join the Boston Celtics as he signed a $5.9 million contract with the team. Schroder had the chance to sign a multi-year deal with the Lakers the previous season; however he decided to test free agency hoping to receive a more lucrative deal.

Shaquille O’Neal could not sit around and not comment about what just happened, and so did he. He posted on Instagram, with the caption “Things that make you go hmmmmmm”.

It was said Celtics and Schroder had been negotiating for days. The former Lakers’ guard was trying to push the Cs’ offer over $10M, while the team stayed put at $5.9.

At the end, the 27-year-old guard signed the one-year deal, as no other NBA team had the cap room to offer him more. Schroder would look to have a comeback season with the Celtics, so he could get a more lucrative deal next offseason.
