Milwaukee Bucks are expected to sign veteran guard George Hill, after the former Sixers’ guard clears waivers. That followed the Philadelphia 76ers’ release of Hill on Tuesday.

The deal was first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. Hill is set to return to Milwaukee as he played for the Bucks during the 2019-2020 season.

He was traded to OKC the past offseason, and thereafter, he was shipped to the Philadelphia 76ers mid-season. Hill will provide cover in the backup point guard position for the reigning NBA champions.

He has career averages of 11.0 points, 3.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds, while shooting 38.4 percent from three-point range in 815 NBA regular season games.

This is the second free agency signing to the Bucks after forward Semi Ojeleye. They also re-signed Bobby Portis, who had a crucial role in the team’s championship run.
