Russell Westbrook will play for the Los Angeles Lakers next season, following a trade from the Washington Wizards on Thursday night.

With Westbrook on the roster, the Lakers have created their own Big-3 and enter the 2021/22 season as the top candidates to win the championship.

The former NBA MVP took to Twitter on Friday and shared his excitement for the opportunity to play for his hometown, Los Angeles.

Westbrook, who still has two years and $91M left on his contract, averaged a triple double of 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds and 11.7 assists with the Wizards.

For their part, the Lakers are now seeking the best way to help the multiple time All-Star integrate to the team and play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
