Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been upgraded to questionable for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns.
He was previously listed as doubtful before the latest injury report came out today.
The 26-year-old has missed the team’s last two games with a hyperextended left knee that he suffered in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Atlanta Hawks.
It was recently reported that Antetokounmpo was working out in private in front of “an army of observers” to assess how he was performing and progressing with his injury.
He has continued to receive around-the-clock treatment on his left knee with hopes of becoming cleared to play Game 1 of the Finals, notes Adrian Wojnarowski.
There’s expected to be a game-time decision on Antetokounmpo’s availability.
Without the two-time MVP in the lineup for the last two games last series, Khris Middleton averaged 29.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game, while Jrue Holiday averaged 26.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 11.0 assists per game.
There is one off-day between Game 1 and Game 2 of the NBA Finals before switching to two off-days before each of the remaining games in the series.
