Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns are heading to the NBA Finals after advancing through three playoff rounds against the Lakers, the Nuggets and the Clippers.

Booker explained how the series vs. the Los Angeles Lakers shaped the Suns ahead of their matchups with Denver and the Clippers.

“Going through that experience [against the Lakers] shaped us for the next series in Denver,” Booker said, per NBA TV. “And then seeing the Clippers and dropping two games to them also, so just understanding it’s a series–and it’s a long series”

Advancing over the reigning champions, especially after going down 2-1, was a huge step for Phoenix. The Suns carried their momentum to the next round and swept the Nuggets.

At the same time, they showed great resiliency against the Clippers in the Western Conference Finals to make the NBA Finals for the first time since 1993.
