Los Angeles Clippers were not able to cover another two-game series’ deficit and fell to the Phoenix Suns, who advanced to the NBA Finals in six games.

The Clippers’ head coach Ty Lue talked on his team’s loss, after the LA franchise concluded the most successful playoff run in team’s history.

The Clippers played their last eight playoff games without five-time All-Star and two-time NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, who was out with a right knee sprain.

Without Leonard, the Clips still managed to eliminate the top-seeded Utah Jazz in the Western Conference semifinals. They also fought hard against Phoenix, beating the Suns twice before ultimately falling in Game 6.

Lue said that the Clippers run out of gas in Game 6, and that was evident, especially for Paul George, who carried the team in his back for eight consecutive playoff games, since Leonard went down with injury.

PG-13 was off in Game 6, scoring 21 points on 6-of-15 shooting, but there wasn’t much the Clippers could do to stop a scorching-hot Suns’ team.
