Ben Simmons is facing criticism for his performances in the seven-game series against the Atlanta Hawks that ended with the Philadelphia 76ers being eliminated. The 24-year-old point guard was not his usual self offensively in this series. He admitted that himself.

He averaged just 9.9 points over these seven games while his season average was 14.3 points per game. In addition, when it mattered the most, Simmons had one of the worst games offensively — he scored just 5 points in Game 7.

According to sports analyst Chris Broussard, the time has come for the Sixers to trade Simmons, who has been on the team since his rookie season in 2017-2018.

“It’s time to trade Ben Simmons, but I wouldn’t just give him away. While shopping him, I’d have him in the gym with a shooting coach. It won’t be easy, but at this moment, it’s now time to move on from Ben Simmons,” Broussard said on UNDISPUTED.

Simmons is on a five-year contract with the 76ers and is set to earn $33 million next season. His contract expires in 2025.
