Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard will definitely have a say on the team’s next head coach after the franchise relieved Terry Stotts from his duties.

The Blazers are searching for a new head coach after their first round exit vs. the Denver Nuggets. Jason Kidd is among the list of candidates that includes Jeff Van Gundy, Mike D’Antoni and Juwan Howard, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

“Jason Kidd is the guy I want,” Lillard told Yahoo Sports on Friday night. Lillard intends to have significant input on the next hire, sources said,” per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Stotts guided Portland to eight playoff appearances in nine seasons having a 402-318 regular-season record with the franchise.

Jason Kidd was previously a head coach with Milwaukee and Brooklyn before joining the Lakers as an assistant head coach alongside Frank Vogel.
