The Los Angeles Lakers secured the seventh seed in the playoffs with a play-in game win over the Golden State Warriors, thanks to a deep three from LeBron James.

The defending NBA champions will take on the Phoenix Suns in the first round series next. This will be the first time for James and Chris Paul to play against each other in the playoffs. LeBron talked about what it means to him after the win over the Dubs.

“It’s a beautiful thing our journeys,” the four-time NBA champion said. “We’ve been laying this game at such a high level for a long time. I’ve always rooted for him, for D-Wade, for Melo to succeed. Got an opportunity to play against Melo in the playoffs a few times. I never got an opportunity to play against D-Wade in postseason but we had a great four-year run in Miami.

“So it’s going to be pretty cool just to be on the same floor and competing one of the most fierce competitors that this game has had over his career. Look forward to the matchup.”
