Marc Gasol played 17 minutes for the Los Angeles Lakers in a win against the Denver Nuggets as he scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, helping his team snap a three-game losing streak.

After the game the Spanish center was asked what the win meant for the Lakers. “Any win is always good,” Gasol said. “I think after the news yesterday that LeBron was not going to play tonight, Dennis had his situation, our situation as a team that we lost six out of seven games you have that urgency. And today was great you felt that urgency as a whole as a team.

“It wasn’t pretty, it wasn’t great, the ball didn’t go in all the time but the kind of activity amongst the guys was great. And the cheering for one another. I really enjoy when we work as a team and we protect one another on both ends of the floor. I think that’s beautiful basketball.”

With this win, the Lakers moved back to the fifth place in the Western Conference, switching places with the Dallas Mavericks. However, the Mavs could overtake the reigning NBA champions with a win as they have the head-to-head advantage after winning season series.
