The Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is getting closer to returning to action after being out for six weeks due to an ankle injury.

The four-time NBA champion teased his comeback with an Instagram post. Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe, who is a friend of LeBron, speculated that he could return on Monday next week.

Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder wasn’t that specific but added the anticipation by saying James is close to making a return. “He’s close, I can tell you that much,” he said, per Harrison Faigen.

This season, James, 36, is averaging 25.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game for the reigning NBA champions.

The Lakers are 8-12 (including the game versus the Atlanta Hawks in which James got injured) without LeBron. They are currently in the fifth place in the Western Conference, four wins behind the fourth-placed Denver Nuggets.
