Many analysts see the Los Angeles Lakers facing the Brooklyn Nets in this year’s NBA Finals. It would mean that two former teammates, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, will be facing each other.

Kevin Love, who was a key part of the Cleveland Cavaliers team that won the championship in 2016, played alongside James and Irving. According to him, if the Lakers and the Nets meet in the Finals, it would be an instant classic.

“Definitely, it would be interesting to see. But tell you what, get your popcorn ready because that would be one for the ages,” Love said.

“If everybody’s healthy on both sides, that would be a really amazing Finals with some guys that are first-ballot Hall of Famers, many first-ballot Hall of Famers.

“It’d be a little odd, obviously, to see my former counterparts and guys that I played with and love respectively to go against each other on opposite teams in the Eastern and Western Conference. But again, I think we’d all enjoy seeing that in a big way because it would just be beautiful basketball.”

Currently, the Lakers are in the fifth place in the West with 35 wins and 22 losses, while the Nets occupy the second place in the Eastern Conference with a 38-19 record.
