Kevin Huerter has filled multiple roles for an injury-plagued Hawks club this season. The third-year guard has stepped up big time on defense with De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish being out for extended time. Head coach Nate McMillan discussed Huerter’s development as a defender after Sunday’s win vs. Indiana.

“Defensively, I think he’s gotten better. We’ve challenged him all season long to become a better defender. Each night he’s become the guy that we’re putting on some of the best players. Without De’Andre and Cam, we’ve had to really rely on Kevin to become a better two-way player for us.”
