Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant left today’s game against the Miami Heat with a left thigh contusion and won’t return, the team announced.

Durant appeared to suffer the injury after banging legs with Heat’s Trevor Ariza on a drive to the basket in the first quarter.

He then missed two free throws, ran up the court and determined that he needed to be examined.

Durant went back to the locker room with the trainers and was ultimately ruled out.

The 32-year-old was playing in his fifth game since returning from a hamstring injury earlier this month.

Today was only the 16th time this season that Durant and Kyrie Irving started together for the Nets.
