Philadelphia 76ers remained at the top of the Eastern Conference thanks to another stellar performance of Joel Embiid. The big man from Cameroon put up 36 points and 14 rebounds to propel his team to a 103-106 win over the Clippers.

He shot 10-for-20 from the floor, and he was 16-for-18 from the foul line attacking the paint constantly to help the Sixers maintain their lead. For his teammate Ben Simmons, Embiid is clearly the MVP this year.

“I don’t think teams really know what to do when guarding him,” said Ben Simmons. “I think he’s clearly the MVP this season. He’s been so dominant and consistent this whole year and he’s been healthy which has been great for us. So, I don’t know how to stop him.”

It was another example of how Embiid remains in the running for the MVP award along with another superstar center in Nikola Jokic.

While Embiid was dominating against the Clippers, Jokic went off for another monstrous performance scoring 29 points on 27 minutes in Houston adding also 16 rebounds and seven assists.

With the regular season gradually coming to an end, both Embiid and Jokic seem to be the clear favorites to win the MVP award as they’re leading the 76ers and the Nuggets from win to win.
