In a repeat of last year’s NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers held close to the Miami Heat but came up short in the end, losing the game 104-110. Following the defeat, Frank Vogel shared his thoughts on what went wrong for his team.

“Very proud of the effort and fight and beliefs that we had in one another that we could beat this team that was in the Finals in their building,” he said.

“Our guys competed their tails off but didn’t play well enough. We fouled too much and we turned the basketball over entirely too much.

“Those are the number one and number two way of being yourself. They’re controllable and we just have to better in those two areas.”

Despite the loss, the reigning NBA champions remained in the fifth place in the Western Conference with 32 wins and 20 losses. They are two wins ahead of the sixth-placed Trail Blazers and a game behind the Nuggets at the fourth.
