Magic rookie RJ Hampton played very motivated against his former team on Sunday, going for a career-high 16 points while giving a look to Denver’s bench after each basket. The game was a battle of players vs. their old teams early on, as Hampton scored Orlando’s first 7 points and Aaron Gordon had the first 12 points for Denver. Hampton’s ex-teammate Monte Morris says he knew the rookie was going to bring a competitive energy once he talked to him before the game.

(Via Denver Nuggets):

“He’s a good competitor, really good talent, really good kid. He brought the energy in practice for sure. Going into the game, he texted and FaceTimed, so we already knew what type of energy he was coming with.”
