Karl-Anthony Towns had a season-high 39 points in the game against the Philadelphia 76ers, but it wasn’t enough for the Minnesota Timberwolves to get the win as they lost 113-122.

After the game, the former number one draft pick talked about the narrative that surrounds him, saying he no longer chases stats.

“I’ve had the time to mess up and I guess you could say “chase stats.” That sh*t is over,” Towns said postgame, per Dane Moore. “I’ve proved myself in this league.

I truly believe that. I don’t have to prove myself anymore But now what I have to is: can I win? I think that’s the next step. I have to do whatever it takes. I look at the stat sheet ‘Oh it’s great, it’s wonderful 30 and 16.’ But we lost. I don’t give a sh*t then.”
