Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards and Charlotte Hornets’ LaMelo Ball have been named Western and Eastern Conference Rookies of the Month.
The award was for games from March 1 to March 31.
In eight games played in March, the 19-year-old averaged 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game, leading all Eastern Conference rookies in points and leading all rookies in assists and steals per game.
In 13 games in March, Edwards led all rookies with 24.2 points per game, along with 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
Edwards’ 24.2 points per game in March are the third-most in a calendar month by a teenager in NBA history, trailing only Carmelo Anthony (27.1) and LeBron James (26.3) (min. 10 games).
The 19-year-old led all rookies in total points (314), made field goals (116), total three-pointers (34) and minutes per game (35.1).
Edwards also has a 16-game streak recording at least one steal, the longest active streak in the NBA.
