Cleveland Cavaliers could not find a deal for veteran center Andre Drummond at the trade deadline. As a result, they will work on a buyout with the experienced center, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Drummond is attracting interest from multiple contending teams including the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets. Drummond has not played since February 12.
He averaged 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.6 steals per game in 25 appearances this season. Drummond has averaged a double-double through his 14 seasons of his NBA career.
He’s considered an elite offensive and defensive rebounder, however his fit seems to lacking in the three-point era due to his inability to shoot threes and free-throws.
The Lakers are considered the favorite to sign the veteran big, while the Nets could also be in the mix, as long as Drummond clears waivers.
