All NBA teams were given permission to talk about possible trades, which started this past Monday. And a key member of the Boston Celtics could be on his way to the West.

CELTICS-MAVS IN TALKS REGARDING RONDO

Boston Celtics’ Rajon Rondo is the subject matter in a possible trade deal which would send the point guard to Dallas Mavericks.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Celtics and Mavericks have been discussing a swap that would furnish Boston with multiple draft picks — including at least one first-rounder — as well as blossoming Mavericks center Brandan Wright and other players needed to make the salary-cap math work.

The Celtics also have been talking to teams such as the Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets about potential Rondo deals, according to sources, but the most advanced discussions have been with Dallas.

The Lakers recently offered the Celtics multiple draft picks — including a future first-rounder — and point guard Steve Nash, who is in the final year of a contract that pays him $9.7 million, sources told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. Nash has been ruled out for the season with a back injury, and the majority of his salary is being paid by insurance. Lakers star Kobe Bryant was photographed having breakfast with Rondo when the teams played in Boston on Dec. 5. While both described that meeting as purely social, sources told ESPN at the time that the Lakers had interest in Rondo when he becomes a free agent this summer.

KYRIE STAYS LATE – LEBRON LOOKS ON

Following last night’s 127-98 loss at home to Atlanta, no Cleveland Cavalier was in any mood to talk. LeBron James even snapped at a reporter who asked him how ’embarrassed’ he felt by the loss? When unbeknownst to him, was what coach David Blatt said earlier.

Kyrie Irving had perhaps his most disappointing game since the FIBA World Cup, registering only 9 points and 6 assists in the loss to the Hawks. So long after the game had ended, Irving went to work. LeBron looked on.

LeBron James, in an out-of-character moment, snapped at a reporter for always asking negative questions after asking LeBron if he was embarrassed by the loss. The reporter was merely following up on (David) Blatt’s opening statement, but LeBron didn’t know that at the time.

“Getting good looks, just got to knock them down for the team,” Irving said after his session. “It’s frustrating for myself when I’m getting the looks I want to get and they’re rattling in and out or I’m being lazy with my jump shot. I just have to figure it out. Tonight getting extra shots up, it’s just something I felt I needed to do.”

Irving also grew testy when someone asked if he or the coaches noticed any change in his shooting form. “Let’s not go deep into my jump shot,” he said. “I’m the basketball player and you guys just watch. It’s very meticulous when it comes to jump shooting. The coaches can’t really do anything, it’s got to come from me knocking down open looks.”

… LEBRON DID DO THIS THOUGH

NO GIFTS ON THE COURT BUT GIFTS TO YOU: NBA XMAS DAY ADVERT

The uniforms are vests, just how they should be and the games are highlighted by LeBron’s return to Miami. The NBA’s Christmas Day games look set to be the most anticipated round in recent years. The advert has been released too. Not bad.
