Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell led the scoring for the Los Angeles Lakers with 22 and 23 points respectively, but it wasn’t enough to defeat the Phoenix Suns. The reigning NBA champions were missing LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol and Jared Dudley.

After the game, the German point guard talked about how the Lakers should change their game to be effective in absence of the likes of James and Davis.

“I think how we played before with them on the court it’s totally opposite now I think. I think gotta move the ball, we gotta play with more pace. On the defensive end we gotta be more scrappy.

“Everybody who is coming on the floor gotta be confident to knock down a shot or to impact the game on the defensive end. I think we gotta shoot more threes while they are out.

Me driving and kicking out for open threes I think that’s good offense. And THT, Alex Caruso all them guards who can get to the rim or in the paint and then find the extra pass for open three I think that’s how we gotta play right now.”
