LeBron James is often given the assignment of being the primary ball handler for the Los Angeles Lakers. Because of that, opposing teams try to press him more.

Frank Vogel, the head coach of the Lakers, was asked about the difference between letting LeBron handle the ball versus having another player do it.

“I think when we played more like last year and even some stretches this year where Bron was the lone ball handler out there, it would shift our thinking in terms of getting another ball handler out there with him or playing through our center or Anthony-led breaks, those types of actions,” he said.

“But right now we’re playing with another ball handler out there almost exclusively for all of the Bron’s minutes. I think it’s really a situation where they’re handling more than he is. And he has the ability to defer.”
