The Los Angeles Lakers returned to action after an All-Star break with a narrow win against the Indiana Pacers (105-100). The reigning NBA champions were once again without Anthony Davis and Marc Gasol.

Postgame the Lakers’ head coach Frank Vogel shared his thoughts on what led his team to the 25th win of the season. “We’re getting stops and we’re taking care of the ball,” he said.

“I think those are the two biggest things. Their pressure disrupted us some a little bit in the first half. We talked about it the last two days. We talked about how in previous games like this sometimes it is a little disruptive in the first quarter.

“But we figured it out and we settled into getting used to their pressure. I thought we did that as the game went along. That was indicative of that stretch right there. In the fourth Kuz [Kyle Kuzma] was huge for us: 15 points, he made some defensive plays. Trezz [Montrezl Harrell] made some plays, Talen [Horton-Tucker], DS [Dennis Schroder], Bron [LeBron James]. Everybody contributed in that fourth quarter. But we held them to 21 points and took care of the basketball. in the fourth.”

After this win, the Lakers remained in third place in the Western Conference behind the Utah Jazz and the Phoenix Suns.
