Nicolas Batum was drawing significant interest this past offseason. The French forward eventually signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. According to Steve Kerr, the Golden State Warriors made a serious effort to get Batum too.
“We tried hard on Batum ourselves. We’ve always admired him from afar,” Kerr said after his team was beaten heavily by the Clippers, per Tomer Azarly. “I think players like Batum are difficult to come by. I thought that was the probably the best signing of the entire offseason in the NBA.”
Batum played 16 minutes against the Dubs scoring 8 points, grabbing 2 rebounds and dishing 1 assist. The 32-year-old forward is averaging 8.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 29.1 minutes per game this season.
