Alex Caruso had an opportunity to take part in this year’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest but turned it down. The Los Angeles Lakers guard was asked if he would be interested in participating in such contest in the future.
“Yes and no. I can do a couple tricks in there,” Caruso said. “People are jumping over people doing windmills and going like between the legs twice or something like that. So I don’t think I’m quite on that level of Dunk Contest material. Like you said, I’m probably more of an in-game dunker.
“I really needed a break. Like you said, condensed offseason another title defense push coming in the playoffs. For me I think I made the right choice. Sorry to disappoint any fans or any Laker hopefuls out there for making and appearance But it was necessary for me.”
