The San Antonio Spurs and veteran big man LaMarcus Aldridge have mutually agreed to part ways, the Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said on Wednesday.

Aldridge, 35, is in the final year of his contract with the Spurs and is due $24 million this season.

In his sixth season with San Antonio, the center is currently averaging 13.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in 25.9 minutes per game – his lowest averages in those categories since his rookie season.

LaMarcus Aldridge is leaving the Spurs, could he land with the NBA title-defending Los Angeles Lakers?
