The Lakers have a preference for Andre Drummond over DeMarcus Cousins, according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.

Both Drummond and Cousins have been linked to the Lakers, as the defending champions want to sign a big man before the March 25 trade deadline.

“League sources say they have interest in free agent DeMarcus Cousins, but Drummond is their preference if he gets bought out. Drummond has been benched while the Cavaliers seek a trade, but there’s doubt around the league that they’ll be able to find one due to his massive $28.8 million salary,” O’Connor reports, via Silver Screen and Roll.

Drummond is under contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, however the team wants to trade him before the deadline. For his part, Cousins is a free agent after parting ways with the Houston Rockets several days ago.
