Anthony Edwards talked on LaMelo Ball, after the two faced each other on Friday night in the Timberwolves-Hornets matchup.

Both rookies put up the numbers during Friday’s matchup. LaMelo Ball had a double-double (20 points, 11 rebounds) to help Charlotte secure a 114-120 victory over Minnesota, while Edwards added another 20+ points performance.

Ball and Edwards put on a show in the first half by trading baskets for a string of 14 consecutive points scored or assisted on.

Prior to the game, Edwards praised Ball claiming that he is a fan. He also added he does not know him personally, due to the different paths they followed prior to getting selected in the 2020 NBA Draft.

“I love his game but I have never met him,” Edwards said. “We’ve been on calls together stuff because we both were potential No. 1 picks but I’ve never met him. But…I love his game. No problem with him.”

Edwards was the first overall pick of the previous season’s draft, while Ball was selected third overall by the Charlotte Hornets.
