The New York Knicks may look to add more veteran stars to their roster, after acquiring Derrick Rode from the Detroit Pistons.

According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the Knicks were monitoring Victor Oladipo’s situation in the offseason. However, the Indiana product ended up with the Rockets, being part of the James Harden deal.

“I would believe those rumblings. I think they were monitoring him in the offseason,” ESPN’s Zach Lowe noted in his podcast in relation to the Knicks reported interest in Oladipo.

Oladipo seems to have found his form in Houston, after struggling in the Orlando ‘bubble’ during the 2019/20 season restart.

He’s averaging 19.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 10 games for Houston. However, his shooting is still a work in progress making his shots on a 39-percent clip.

It’s still unclear if the Rockets want to re-sign Oladipo, who will become an unrestricted free agent after the end of the current season.

However, it will be unwise for the Knicks to trade assets for a player, who is expected to enter free agency next summer.
