Former NBA champion and current analyst Kendrick Perkins is impressed with Joel Embiid’s performances this season. The 26-year-old center has most recently exploded with 42 points helping the Philadelphia 76ers defeat the Boston Celtics.
It was his second 40+ points game this month. Embiid had 45 points in win over the Miami Heat on January 13. According to Perkins, the Cameroonian is on the way to becoming the MVP this season.
“Joel Embiid is on pace to winning this year’s MVP…he’s playing the best basketball of his career! Carry on…” Perk tweeted.
This season, Embiid is averaging 26.4 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the Sixers.
