Ognjen Dobrić had an excellent night in his team’s 77-79 victory over Real Madrid in the last game of Round 19 in the EuroLeague.
The match between Real and Crvena Zvezda was postponed due to the snowstorm named Filomena. The team from Belgrade was waiting for five days to freeze the home team at the WiZink Center and return from Spain, where they played against Valencia in Round 20 (91-71) and against the team from Madrid in the postponed game.
The one that was pushing Crvena Zvezda in the first half was Corey Walden, who scored 16 of his 18 points in the first 20 minutes of the game. In the second half, Ognjen Dobrić stood out. He collected 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block for the highest index rating (21) in the match. Duop Reath added 10 points for Crvena Zvezda.
Even though these two mentioned players (Dobrić and Walden) had a big part in Zvezda‘s victory, the defense was the main reason why Real Madrid was defeated at home. The excellent job was done against the main shooters of Real, and no one had more than 11 points. Rudy Fernandez was the one with 11, while four players managed to score 10 – Nicolas Laprovittola, Gabriel Deck, Trey Thompkins, and Jeffery Taylor.
