Cleveland Cavaliers guard Dante Exum is expected to miss one-to-two months with a strained right calf, according to Shams Charania.

Exum suffered the non-contact injury in the first quarter of the team’s 103-83 loss to the Orlando Magic on Jan. 4.

The 25-year-old was recently put into a defensive stopper role by head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.

“I think (Dante) is a heck of a defender,” Bickerstaff said over the weekend. “He’s extremely intelligent. He’s got great length. And he’s committed to trying to go out and get the job done.”

Exum was inserted into the starting lineup with Isaac Okoro and Kevin Porter Jr. out.

In three games this season, Exum was averaging 3.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
