James Harden shared his thoughts on his stellar performance in his season debut with the Houston Rockets.
Harden had 44 points and 17 assists in 43 minutes of action, yet the Rockets lost to the Portland Trail Blazers on the road (128-126).
“I didn’t surprise myself at all. I know what I’m capable of. We showed a lot of fight. We came out with a great sense of urgency, you could just tell when it was the first game, but playing only 8 players it took a toll on us later in the game. But when we get our team back, we have a chance,” Harden told reporters afterwards.
Harden and the Rockets will seek for their first win of the season on Monday, when they face the Denver Nuggets.
