The Los Angeles Clippers are set to take on the Dallas Mavericks later today at Staples Center. Ty Lue, Clippers’ head coach, spoke highly about the Mavs’ young superstar Luka Doncic.

He praised the 21-year-old Slovenian for his passing ability, comparing it to that of LeBron James, per Brandon ‘Scoop’ Robinson.

LeBron was the top passer in the NBA last season with 10.2 assists per game. Doncic was tied third with Ricky Rubio with 8.8 assists per game.

The Clippers enter the game with a 2-0 record after beating the Lakers and the Nuggets. Meanwhile, Dallas lost both of their games, falling to the Lakers and the Suns.

Lue also saw similarities between James and Luka in the way they post up, according to Brad Townsend. Doncic’s step-back reminds him of James Harden.
