Ricky Rubio is back with the Minnesota Timberwolves and his teammates are excited.

Like most overseas guards, Rubio’s passing ability and approach to the game are very fundamentally sound. His basketball intelligence at camp has caught the appreciation of the young Wolves roster, most notably Malik Beasley.

Beasley’s praise for Rubio’s IQ is a great sign for the 24-year-old’s growth. He’s only averaged 1 APG for his career, but has a great offensive feel with room to expand as not just a scorer. Rubio can help make Beasley into a better playmaker and the youngster is acknowledging that.

“It’s just crazy because Ricky’s played since he was 14. So I kinda pick his brain every day, he’s probably tired of me already.”
