The defending NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers begin their quest for another title with just two months removed from Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Finals. The unusually short offseason makes it much more difficult for the players to rest. Instead they have to force their preparations.

LeBron James, who turns 36 in late December, will begin his eighteenth NBA season. Despite having a great longevity and remaining one of the best players in the league, The King is not getting younger.

The Lakers superstar admitted to being sore after Day 2 of training camp. However, dealing with pain early on is not stopping him.

“Right now I’m sore as hell … it’s Day 2 of camp. That’s been my whole career except when I was 18 or 19. But nothing that’s stopping me from being on the floor,” James said, per Mike Trudell.
