After not testing players for marijuana in the Orlando bubble, the NBA will continue that for the upcoming 2020-2021 season, according to Ben Dowsett of Forbes.

The decision was largely based on COVID-19 safety protocols, as a way to limit unnecessary contacts.

Testing for marijuana would mean more close contact required for players.

There is also “significant expectation” from many in the league that the entire marijuana testing program is on the way out in the near future, Dowsett also notes.
