After joining the Charlotte Hornets via a sign-and-trade dea;, Gordon Hayward will team up with the team’s third pick in this year’s NBA Draft, LaMelo Ball.
According to Hayward, his new teammate has a natural feel for the game. The 30-year-old forward also said he can relate to LaMelo’s situation being a young guy coming to the league.
“Definitely taller than I expected. I didn’t realize he was as tall as he was. I’m excited about playing with him. He seems like somebody who can playmake for others and really get others involved as well as score for himself. But he seems like he has a good natural feel for the game. He can do a little bit of everything,” Hayward said.
“Like I said, the height helps with that as he’s able to see over the defense and have that vision. He’s definitely a young guy… I told him yesterday ‘I remember being where you are at’ where you are kind of coming into the NBA you don’t family, you don’t have kids, you don’t have nothing to worry about. He’s said something like ‘I just need a place with the bed and I’m good.'”
