Dwyane Wade has reacted to Jimmy Butler joining him as part of Chinese brand Li-Ning. Butler, who quit the Jordan Brand earlier this year, has reportedly signed a multi-year shoe deal with the aforementioned company, the details of which are yet to be released.
Wade and Butler became close during their time together in Chicago and the Miami legend played an integral role in the Heat landing Butler last year. The forward’s impact was immediate and he led the team to their first NBA Finals appearance in six years, before bowing out to the Los Angeles Lakers on the back of a 4-2 finish.
The three-time NBA Champion is likely to have had much to do with Jimmy joining Li-Ning and offered a reaction via Twitter when the deal was announced.
Wade helped Li-Ning become a recognized brand worldwide and they’ve since launched deals with the likes of CJ McCollum, Evan Turner, and Glen Robinson III. Butler’s stock rose considerably during last season’s playoffs and his signing will likely see to the brand becoming even bigger.
