Khimki took over in the last quarter closing the game in a 9-20 run to claim an 83-88 win over fellow Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg.
The visitors went down to a six-point hole (74-68), after Zenit’s Billy Baron buried his fifth three-pointer in the game.
Khimki went on a vital run thanks to Alexey Shved and Errick McCollum, who attacked relentlessly in the second half to propel the visiting squad to the victory.
Shved finished the contest with 24 points, while Errick McCollum had 19 points making five consecutive clutch free throws in the last 30 seconds of the contest.
Baron’s team-high 24 points were not enough for Zenit, which dropped to 3-2 record. Khimki improved to 2-6.
