Five veteran NBA players have joined the NBA G League Select Team, the G League Ignite, the team announced.

Big man Amir Johnson, guard Bobby Brown, guard Reggie Hearn, forward Brandon Ashley and guard Cody Demps will join top prospects Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Isaiah Todd, Daishen Nix, Princepal Singh and Kai Sotto.

“We’re excited to add Amir, Bobby, Reggie, Brandon and Cody, five high-character guys who have each spent many years around the NBA, NBA G League and other professional leagues, to mentor and develop our elite prospects,” said Ignite head coach Brian Shaw. “Their professional experience will enable them to help our coaching staff develop a culture that will be beneficial to their younger teammates as they work towards their professional careers.”

Johnson, the most notable name among the veterans, has played 14 years in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.

Brown played 158 NBA games over the course of six seasons for the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets.

Hearn, Ashley and Demps are G League veterans and of the three, only Hearns has played in an NBA regular season game.

Hearn averaged 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for the South Bay Lakers, the Los Angeles Lakers’ affiliate.

Demps averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Stockton Kings, the Kings’ affiliate.

Ashley on the other hand, spent last season in the National Basketball League (NBL) with the New Zealand Breakers where he averaged 10.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in 27 games.
