The Chicago Bulls are hiring Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Josh Longstaff for Billy Donovan’s coaching staff.

For Longstaff, it will be an opportunity to elevate to a front-of-the-bench assistant, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Longstaff, 38, spent four years as an assistant with the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2010-2014.

He then joined the New York Knicks staff from 2014-2017.

Longstaff was named head coach of the Atlanta Hawks G League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks (now called the College Park Skyhawks), in 2017-2018.

After one season where he led the team to the conference finals, he was eventually hired by the Bucks where he spent two seasons from 2018-2020.

In October, Donovan let go of multiple assistants who were previously on the Bulls’ staff, as the team is hiring new assistants with player development in mind and Longstaff fits that criteria.
