Doc Rivers was appointed as the Philadelphia 76ers head coach last week. After getting the chance to sign with the franchise, Rivers is set to make adjustments in the coaching staff.

Frank Isola has reported that Doc Rivers has his eyes on Dave Joerger to become an assistant coach. Joerger has six years of head coaching experience, making stops in Memphis and Sacramento.

Joerger parted ways with the Sacramento Kings in the previous offseason, after leading the franchise to its best record in 13 years.

The former Memphis coach could help the Sixers bounce back from a disappointing season, which ended with a first-round exit against the Boston Celtics.

Joerger is also among the candidates for the Indiana Pacers head coaching vacancy.
