After taking down the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, the Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra revealed an interesting fact about Jimmy Butler.
According to Spoelstra, Miami’s legend Dwyane Wade played an important part in convincing him and Pat Riley to get Butler to the team by swearing that he would be the one who could win big games for the Heat.
“This is your guy. This is the next guy,” Spoelstra quoted Wade in press conference, per Will Manso. D-Wade indirectly confirmed the stated by retweeting Spoelstra’s quote and writing “LEGACY”.
Butler exploded with 40 points in 45 minutes in Game 3.
