JJ Redick was a crucial member of one of the most fun to watch team in the NBA, the Lob City Clippers. The veteran sharpshooter talked on the ‘All the Smoke’ podcast with Matt Barnes on the reason the Clippers never got past the second round of the playoffs.

The Pelicans’ sharpshooter basically referred to two reasons why the Clippers weren’t able to succeed, despite having Chris Paul and Blake Griffin in their roster during their primes.

“Well, I think there’s a couple of things. And look, I’ve talked about this before and I’ve used the word pettiness before or petty. There was some pettiness between some of us,” JJ Redick told former Clippers forward Matt Barnes on “All The Smoke.”

“Probably if you look back and I’ve talked to enough of the guys now like we’ve all matured even more since then, and we’ve all sort of realized what we squandered by being immature and petty at times. The other part of that is, you know, for whatever reason, I know you’ve said this before too, but the mental toughness, we would lose that at times. It still doesn’t make sense to me.”

The Clippers parted ways with Doc Rivers a few days ago, after another disappointing second-round exit for the franchise. Maybe, chemistry issues were also the reason for their 2020 playoffs exit, as the Clippers never found a way to keep going in the “bubble”.
