The Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard was asked on Twitter to name his favorite Blazer of All-Time. The 30-year-old went with a former Portland guard.
“B Roy even though it was short lived,” Lillard tweeted referring to Brandon Roy who played for the Blazers through 2006-2011. The former sixth overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft had a short pro career due to knee problems.
Roy announced retirement in 2011 but made a comeback in 2012 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, his knees were the issue again. He had to take a season-ending surgery in his right knee after playing just 5 games for his new team.
During the five years in Portland, Roy averaged 20+ points per game twice. His best season in terms of scoring was in 2008-2009 when he averaged 22.6 points per game.
