The Toronto Raptors are down 2-0 in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Celtics and Nick Nurse appeared frustrated with some calls by the referees.
In particular, the Raptors’ head coach was not comfortable with the way the refs officiated on Jayson Tatum. Tatum shot 14 free throws that were translated to 14 points for the Boston Celtics during Game 2.
“He shoots 14 free throws, which is much as the whole team shoots. They took very good care of him tonight,” Nurse said, after the end of Game 2. The Raptors will face Tatum and the Celtics again on Thursday for Game 3.
Being in a 2-0 hole, the Raptors will need more efficient shooting from their guards to have a chance to return in the series, regardless of the officials’ decisions.
