Someone spread a rumour in Greece about Oly and Ben Gordon. Nothing can beat Maccabi in the number of players they are interested so instead they make unrealistic rumours about players like Gordon <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />
I am reading such bullshit all the time, but i never care about it. Like Pedja in oly

I do not blame Oly or Maccabi here.

The media is making all this muss from nothing.

Quote:As it was officially made known by CSKA Moscow's General Manager Andrei Vatutin, Ettore Messina will not continue in CSKA Moscow and his successor will be the Russian coach Evgeniy Pashutin.

Here is the official press release from Andrei Vatutin:

"First of all please allow me, in the behalf of the club's administration, players, staff and fans to thank the great Ettore Messina for his work for CSKA. Without a doubt he is the greatest coach of the modern CSKA era. Messina's era is a golden era for our club. In four season of work we have demonstrated bright results, which will be hard for anyone else to achieve again.

Four Euroleague finals in a row, two Euroleague titles, 4 Russian championship and 2 Russian cups is a great achievement. It is impossible to express the development of our basketball: his talent and knowledge was always available to the young coaches. We would be extremely delighted if Messina accepted our offer to continue to offer his services to our club as a technical director."

Ettore Messina responded to Vatutin's announcement and proposal of working a technical director at CSKA Moscow:

“The situation in the club called for change, and I am happy for Zhenya Pashutin to get this kind of possibility. Still I am happy for the time in Moscow, for the incredible achievements we were able to reach. I am also honored to have a proposal from Andrey Vatutin to work in the club on a different position, but I need to think carefully about it.”

Pashutin's statements:

“It is something unbelievable: CSKA is the best team if the country if not in Europe. To be in helm of CSKA is a dream of every coach, the great happiness, but at the same time phenomenal responsibility, because the club is always fighting for the highest goals. This is a challenge, a big life cycle. I have a lot of energy and desire to work and to continue winning traditions for CSKA, I want to raise the team to a new level. I would like to thank Andrey Vatutin and club’s owners for their trust."
Lietuvos Rytas, again, interested in Olympiacos' Igor Milosevic.
With a Russian coach now let's hope Russian players will start playing more...
Maccabi wants Yotam Halperin back because of the 'Russian law'. Gershon likes him and Olympiacos doesn't mind giving him away or loaning him in order to sign another European player.
Joel Freeland agreed terms with Unicaja Malaga. Gran Canaria is stepping in to collect buyout fee 500k euro.

Daniel Hackett agreed with Benetton if he does not make it to the nba.

Rumors in greece that both panathinaikos and olympiakos are interested in ron artest.

More rumors from greece: darjus in siena to meet his brother and greer to valencia

Darjus agreed with Maccabi...

More likely that Ksistof will leave Siena to Barca.
It's just rumors. Journalists need to make a living as well. Personal opinion: Darjus will not end up in siena and there is nothing realistic behind a pao interest for artest.

Quote:According to the Olympiacos affiliated Greek sports newspaper 'Protathlitis' Olympiacos has officially offered John Robert Holden a two years contract.

Although no numbers were mentioned our information estimate the worth of the two years deal to a total of 4 million euros. It is worth mentioning that JR Holden was a teammate with Olympiacos' captain and symbol player Teo Papalouas for 6 years in CSKA Moscow and would have no problems adjusting to Olympiacos backcourt.

In fact Greek A1 was the first high calibre league JR Holden played when he won the title with AEK Athens by beating Papaloukas' Olympiacos in the final series.

JR Holden is at the moment a free agent and it is yet unknown if CSKA Moscow will propose a new contract to him. As it was known since yesterday, CSKA will invest in Russian players by 2/3 of the squad, but it was not made clear if that number includes naturalised Russian players such as JR Holden.

JR Holden became a Russian citizen by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin back in 2003 and has since had a brilliant career with the Russian NT, leading them to winning the Gold medal in Eurobasket 2007. Hence he will probably replace Milos Teodosic who is probably will be loaned to another team.
In case messina signs with real, he wants to bring zisis, smodis, kaukenas and sato
There is a rumour that Panathinaikos wants Siskauskas back. Could this be Panathinaikos' strike back in case Saras leaves?
Garbajosa could return to Spain

Unicaja seeking to rejuvenate the team with Freeland, Velickovic, Suarez and Ribas. looking for a star PG and negotiates the renewal of N'Dong, Cabezas and Jimenez.
Unicaja wants Berzins.I don´t know the credibility will be in the news. I also understand the Latvian ...

But he has alrady signed a new contract with CSKA. Unless PAO are willing to pay the buyout. And what's the size of the buyout then. If this comes true then it would an interesting move.

I thought that Garbajosa won't stay for too long in Russia especially when he is wanted by the teams in his home country.

Any rumours about the 'star PG' that you mentioned?

It is Lithuanian site, not Latvian <img src='http://www.talkbasket.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> And it is reliable in most cases.
Union Olimpija officialy signed PG DuÅ¡an Đorđević ex Bosna and F Edin Bavčić ex Köln. They will be backups.

Some say that he has a 2m buy-out and others say he doesn't have a buy-out and it would require up to 5m to by him.
